Summary:
Professionals agree that addiction to the game is a mental disorder. This interview of a doctor who has treated patients suffering from addiction thinks that addiction to World of Warcraft is no different than a drug addiction.

Paraphrase and a response:
There are millions of gamers playing online games and the number of addicted players is growing rapidly. Dr. Orzack believes 40 percent of World of Warcraft players are addicted to the game (Wright Para. 3). The clients she works with have trouble separating themselves from the game and real life. They imagine themselves as their character in the game, and get so attached that sometimes intervention is needed. Dr. Orzack believes that now that videogames are easy to access everywhere the problem will still be growing rapidly (Wright Para. 6).

Summary:
Addiction of online games can ruin relationships, grades, or worse. Addiction to games has even been linked to some suicides. If gaming ever interferes with real life, it's a wise idea to quit the game.

Paraphrase and a response:
The fantasy worlds offered by online computer games can become a very huge addiction for older teenage males, and young adult males (Becker Para. 5) This demographic shows the age of people being addicted to these games is around college level or some form of schooling. Online gaming could seriously affect one's work, or homework especially at this age. Even gaming consoles can even be addicting to young children, with out even being online. This proves the addicting nature of video games in general.
